The Municipal Records Manager is responsible for records management within the City of San Antonio. The Municipal Records Facility maintains records in accordance with the mandates of the Texas State Library and Archives Commission.

The Municipal Records Facility is named in honor of retired Municipal Records Manager Mr. George Whitfield, Jr. for his contributions to the City of San Antonio and the records management discipline.

The Municipal Records Facility has completed a major records management project.
