Annually the Code Compliance Division partners with the City Clean-up City Commission and the Department of Environmental Services to sponsor "Code Compliance Awareness Week" during the spring season. It is held in conjunction with the City-wide Clean-up Day which provides an easy access to get rid of trash, debris and junked vehicles.
The Enforcer & CODE-E are available for neighborhood meetings and special events. They will also make visits to schools. For more information, please contact Paul Banda at 207-7527. This period is dedicated to providing a comprehensive proactive approach to code enforcement and education in numerous neighborhood areas at one time. Code violations addressed during this week include junked vehicles, front-yard parking, weeded lots, dangerous structures, unsanitary premises and outside storage violations. Teams of Code Enforcement Officers take the opportunity to attend as many neighborhood meetings as possible to work with the neighborhood leaders to address their neighborhood code violation concerns and clean-up projects. These meetings also give an opportunity for neighborhood leaders to get to know their area Code Enforcement Officer. Neighborhood leaders learn what they can do to contribute to the health and safety of their neighborhood in addition to what services the Code Compliance Division provides.
