Local Amendments to the IPMC

The City of San Antonio is proposing to adopt the 2009 International Property Maintenance Code in place of the existing minimum housing code.  The code would cover maintenance standards for all existing property, both commercial and residential, in the City of San Antonio.  The code will be the primary mechanism for enforcing health and safety issues within the City related to property maintenance.

The City will adopt the code in its entirety along with local amendments necessary to fit our local conditions and jurisdictional issues.

A copy of the code is available for purchase from the International Code Council.  A copy is also available for inspection in our office located at 1400 S. Flores.  Please make an appointment before coming to the office by calling (210) 207-5400 to ensure staff availability.  You can submit comments or questions on the proposed amendments by sending an e-mail to Charlotte Barrett.  Please note that the below listed local amendments are subject to change prior to adoption by City Council.  Any changes will be posted on this page.
