The Kidcare resource and referral counselors assist parents locate child care with the assistance of a comprehensive database of licensed child care facilities and registered child care homes that covers a 34 county area. Counselors are available Monday through Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. 

KID CARE HELP LINE:
• Referral services provided at no charge
• Referral services provided within Alamo, Concho Valley, and Middle Rio Grande Workforce Development Area
• Listings include Licensed Child Care Facilities, Registered Child Care Homes, Camps, and Nanny Services
• KidCare counselors determine the families’ needs then provides information on childcare, items to look for, and questions to ask when selecting a provider, "How to select quality child care."
• KidCare counselors provide the families with additional resources and brochures of consumer information depending upon the families needs
• Depending on the location, parents may receive a listing of providers in a 2-9 mile radius around their home or work, by zip code, or county

• Held annually in the Spring on Saturday
• Choice of classes from which to choose for 7 hours of training
• Co-sponsored with the Children’s Resources Division
• Call for date, cost, and registration information

DIRECTOR’S SYMPOSIUM

• Held annually in the fall at the H. B. Gonzales Convention Center for Directors and administrative staff
• Multiple session offered for 6 hours of training
• Co-sponsored with Texas Department of Protective and Regulatory Services (TDPRS), Family Services Association (FSA) and SAAEYC
