Commission for Children and Families

The commission for children and Families is comprised of 11 members, one member from each of the 10 Council Districts and a representative of the Mayor. 

The Commission serves in an advisory capacity to the City Council on matters affecting the needs and well being of the children and families of the City of San Antonio.

The Commission collaborates with SCHOOLS, NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATIONS, BUSINESSES, AND COMMUNITY GROUPS.

The Commission for Children and Families will be holding Public Forums in the four quadrants of San Antonio throughout the year. The forums will give the citizens of San Antonio an opportunity to inform the Commission about concerns they have affecting children and families in their area.

  • 1 in 7 Children has working parents, but is still poor

  • 1 in 12 children has a disability

The Commission for Children and Families Meetings are held at 5:00-6:00 PM the 3rd Monday of each month. The meetings are open to the public and are wheelchair accessible. Please call 246-5270 for location.
