Councilman Lopez was joined By District 4 Councilman Cortez for a groundbreaking ceremony on Monday March 14th for the much anticipated Hunt Lane project from Ingram to Potranco.
The project has been allocated $12,561,816 from the 2007-2012 Bond Program which will reconstruct and widen Hunt Lane to four lanes, with a two-way shared use path, sidewalks, curbs, driveway approaches, and necessary drainage and traffic signal improvements. The estimated completion of this project is May 2012, and should enhance the use of Hunt Lane by both District 6 and District 4 residents.

Councilman Lopez was selected as a 433rd Airlift Wing Honorary Commander. This is an
important moment for the Alamo Wing, as it is the first time civilian community leaders
will pair with military commanders to become immersed in Air Force Reserve heritage, their
wing's various missions and celebrate the accomplishments of Citizen Airmen.

in July 2012. This project will consist of replacing the existing 2-10 foot by
12 foot multiple box culverts with 4-10 foot by 12 foot multiple box culvert and

detour route for this project which will consist of one way traffic on Old Highway 90.
In early April 2012, the Department of Public Works will be adjusting the posted afternoon time periods on some of the school zone signs within several school districts. For school zones without flashing beacons, the signs will be changed from stating '2 p.m. - 4 p.m.' to state '2 p.m. - 5 p.m.', which will better reflect the ending of the school day for many middle or high schools city-wide. The school zones impacted by this change are adjacent to the following campuses:
