PROCEDURE
1.
Client obtains referral from court or probation official.
2.
Client calls the Community Service office at 207-8300 and talks to a staff person. The
clerk will ask pertinent questions about client and the hours assigned.
Initial
contact with the program staff must be made by the client in order that the procedures of
the program may be explained to the client. Subsequent information may be obtained through
a second party (spouse, relative, etc.).
3.
The clerk refers client to a work site coordinator, who will discuss hours of operation,
reporting location, special dress code requirements, etc.
4.
Client reports to the work site to the supervisor on duty. Supervisor checks
identification of client and the case number for the hours being served.
A
"Hold Harmless and Indemnification" form is signed by the client prior to
beginning to serve hours. Medical expenses incurred due to an accident or injury while
performing community service are the responsibility of the client.
5.
The client works either a full day or a minimum four-hour shift, depending on the
requirements of the work site. The client reports again to the supervisor at the end of
the day/shift. This continues until the required number of hours is performed.
6.
Upon completion of hours, the field supervisor signs a completion form. The form is
carried to the Community Service Coordinator for verification and signature.
7.
After an authorized signature is obtained, the completion form is taken by the client and
turned in to the court or to the probation official, as required.

Use
of verified hours for multiple assignments or agencies is not permitted!
