                     Linear Creekways

Voters approved the Parks Development and Expansion Venue Project in May 2005 to acquire open space and create linear parks along Leon Creek, Salado Creek, the Medina River and the San Antonio River. These "linear creekways" will become unique pieces of the municipal park system for hiking, biking and other recreational uses while also helping to preserve life and property during significant flood events. A 1/8-of-a-cent sales tax would be imposed to collect $45 million for this project.

The purchase and development of this property is assisted by a group of community members who serve on the Linear Creekway Parks Advisory Board, which meets monthly. View the agenda.
