San Antonio has adopted the 2009 International Building Code with amendments. The amendments were adopted
October 1, 2009, and become effective January 1, 2010. The Code book is available at various book stores and from International Code Council (ICC). The telephone number for ICC is 1-888-422-7233 or visit the ICC website at www.iccsafe.org. The amendments are available for purchase from the City Clerks office at City Hall on the second floor. Effective July 1, 2005 permit applicants must submit a list of special
inspections indicated on the permit documents prepared by the registered
design professional in responsible charge. The list shall contain all
special inspections required by Chapter 17 of the International Building
Code, whether applicable or non applicable and the required qualifications
for each special inspector.
A final report written by the registered design professional in responsible charge documenting all the special inspections shall be submitted to the building official prior to the issuance of a certificate of occupancy.
