Electrical Examining & Supervising Board
The Board is composed of eleven members as follows: one general contractor; one practicing professional engineer; two practicing master electricians; two journeyman electricians; one homebuilder; one practicing master sign electrician; and three laymen/consumers. Members are appointed by the City Council for two-year staggered terms.
The Board passes, upon the qualifications of all applicants, certificates of electrical licenses, sets dates for examinations, and reviews all decisions of the chief electrical inspector. Members receive $20 for each regular and called meeting attended, not to exceed $520 per year. Meetings are held twice a month on the second and fourth Tuesday at 9:30 A.M. at the Development and Business Services Center Board Room 1st Floor, 1901 South Alamo. Meeting duration is usually one to two hours.
