Employee Recognition & Reward Program

Nomination Form

Purpose
The purpose of the Downtown STARs award is to recognize and reward employees who go above and beyond their normal job duties to serve internal and external customers while promoting camaraderie in the department. 

Eligibility
All Downtown Operations employees are eligible to be nominated to receive an award and reward.

Nominating Process
Nominations will be accepted on the form provided.  Anyone – Downtown Operations employees, City employees, San Antonio residents, or downtown visitors – can submit a nomination form either in person or online.

Nominees should display as many of the following attributes as possible:

  • Service: Employee demonstrates exceptional customer service by going above and beyond normal job duties to perform outstanding acts of customer service. 
  • Teamwork: Employee practices a personal commitment to achieving the goals of the department.  Employee regularly collaborates with others for input, takes ownership for getting tasks completed and is open to new learning opportunities. 

 

  • Attitude:  Employee exhibits a positive attitude that inspires and motivates other employees and leaves a good impression on customers.   
  • Resourcefulness: Employee displays resourcefulness by offering innovative ideas that improve department performance and/or lead to cost savings.  A “resourceful” employee also finds a way to get the job done!

 

Recognition and Rewards for Downtown STARs

  • There will be 3 Downtown STARs recognized each quarter. 
  • All Downtown STARs will receive an award, and the employees will be spotlighted in the monthly Focus Downtown newsletter.
  • The Downtown STAR employee will receive a copy of the nomination and a copy will go in his/her personnel file.
  • Downtown STARs will be treated to lunch with the Director and/or Assistant Director.
