Message from the Director
Welcome to the website of the newly created Downtown Operations Department. In FY 2007, the City Manager reorganized various downtown functions from other city departments to create added focus and effort for downtown San Antonio which welcomes close to 26 million visitors annually and services the neighborhoods for nearly 3,200 residents.
The mission of the Downtown Operations Department is to preserve and enhance downtown San Antonio by providing centralized services that enrich the quality of life for those who live, work, and visit this historic and cultural center. Our team is here to maintain and improve the unique history and culture which makes downtown San Antonio the State's top destination for both leisure and business travelers. We are committed to serving the needs of downtown stakeholders and becoming that central point of contact for all downtown issues. Our communication and partnerships with various stakeholders will make downtown San Antonio a better place.
