CREATIVE SERVICES

San Antonio values and supports its Creative Services industry in providing new employment opportunities and investment, but is also as a key to fostering an entrepreneurial and innovative environment in San Antonio. Towards a sustained focus on this industry and its importance to the overall economy the City of San Antonio created the Cultural Collaborative a comprehensive plan for San Antonio's creative economy.

A few principle objectives of the Cultural Collaborative are:

• Ensuring greater access to the arts through opportunities for participation in various performing and cultural arts performance demonstrations and activities throughout the city for all segments of the community.

• Ensuring continues economic development of the Creative Industry by developing business opportunities, education and experiences designed to heighten the role and importance of creative individual through development of workforce training; internships; development of cultural districts; and expansion of heritage tourism.

• Ensuring that an infusion of new resources is brought to bear in support of the arts and cultural sector of the Creative Industry.

The economic impact of the Creative Services Industry  is just over $1.2 billion in the San Antonio economy. The Creative Industry paid over $319 million in wages to 11,888 employees and generated more than $2.2 million in local sales taxes.
