The Financial Services industry is one of San Antonio's fastest growing with developments such as Washington Mutual's regional operations center. This development is projected to bring 4,200 jobs to the San Antonio in the next several years. In 2004 the Financial Services Industry had an economic impact of $20.5 billion, employed 50,469 people,  and paid $2.66 billion in wages.

The City of San Antonio has proactively sought to nurture the financial services industry in its momentum, and towards optimizing critical importance as a key economic input in the competitiveness or our region. With the creation of Finance San Antonio came a dual focus on the importance of this industry not only as an economic generator but also a key factor in the success of our the other driver industries by providing targeted-industry related specialization in services and financing options.
