Ad Valorem Property Tax
Late payment
- Taxes become delinquent if not paid by the due date. A delinquent
tax incurs interest at the rate of 1% for the first month and an
additional 1% for each month the tax remains delinquent. In addition
to interest, delinquent taxes incur the following penalties: 6% for
the first month; an additional 1% for each of the following 4
months; and an additional 2% for the sixth month, for a total of
12%.

Example
- Penalty and interest will be added at a rate of 7% for February, 2% per month for March through June, and 3% for July. Thereafter, interest will continue
to be added at the rate of 1% per month until the tax is paid.

Collection Fee
- Current taxes remaining delinquent after June 30th during the
first year of delinquency, will incur an additional 15% collection
fee. NOTE: If there is an existing lawsuit for earlier years, the
15% collection fee will be added immediately on the first normal
workday of February.
Effect of Weekend or
Holiday -
If the last day for the performance of an act is a Saturday, Sunday, or
legal state or national holiday, the act is timely if performed on
the next regular business day.
