Alcoholic Beverage Fee Requirements

The City levies a fee equal to 1/2 the amount of the State license or permit fee on all alcoholic beverage licenses or permits, unless otherwise prohibited by the State. These fees must be paid prior to the sale of alcoholic beverages at a location. The City renewal fee is due by the expiration date of the license, whether or not the State license has been physically received at the location. The City Fee Receipt must be posted and displayed conspicuously next to the State license or permit. Failure to pay the required fee and display the fee receipt appropriately will result in a warning violation issued by a City Investigator and/or a citation issued by the San Antonio Police Department or other law enforcement official. Non-payment of a local fee may also result in a fine or up to $500 and/or the termination of the State license or permit. Note: Although a State license or permit may be placed in suspense (with the State), the City of San Antonio fee must continue to be paid until reactivated at a location other than in the City of San Antonio, or until the license is terminated.

Pay your City of San Antonio License/Permit Fee at:

506 Dolorosa Street
Room 101
San Antonio, Texas 78204

NOTE: Mixed Beverage fees (MB, LB and/or CB) are due beginning with the 3rd renewal year. The mixed beverage cartage (PE) permit is due immediately.
For example: If the mixed beverage permit was originally purchased from the state on October 15th, 1998, the City fee is due beginning on October 15th, 2001. An exception for the mixed beverage permit is the mixed beverage cartage (PE) permit, which was due on the origination date in 1998.

NOTICE!

Effective August 1, 2003, license fee and coin decal reminders will no longer be mailed. Owners and operators will be responsible for paying the appropriate fees by the date due.
