The Revenue Division is responsible for the billing and/or collection of code compliance fees, Hotel/Motel  Occupancy Taxes for the City of San Antonio and Bexar County, Downtown Improvement District levies, and other revenue collections on behalf of various City departments. The Revenue Division calculates the Effective Tax Rate and publishes the required documents and notices each year.

Other major responsibilities include the enforcement and collection of City fees for alcoholic beverage permits and licenses and coin-operated amusement machine occupation taxes and decals, as well as the issuance of peddlers/ canvasser/ photographers and other occupational licenses. The Revenue Division also files claims for and monitors the status of bankruptcy cases for monies owed the City, and the filing of real estate liens for the non-payment of code compliance charges.

These tasks are performed by the Investigative Services Section and the Revenue Collection Section.
