Publications
The San Antonio Metropolitan Health District released its inaugural annual report, Building the Foundation for a Healthier San Antonio, in July 2009. The report highlights the department’s programs, services, and accomplishments during FY08. The 16-page publication, which includes a budget snapshot and department contacts, is intended to increase knowledge and awareness of how Metro Health is serving and protecting our community.
The 2009 Metro Health calendar features the winning artwork of 26 local students from elementary to high school level. Their art focused on topics such as oral hygiene, annual health check-ups, food safety, healthy pregnancies, immunizations, hurricane and flood preparation, future dreams and goals, exercise, tobacco prevention and cessation, and nutrition.
Check out the City of San Antonio's 2008 Annual Report - San Antonio... In the Heart of It All!. Inside you will find highlights of various City departments, including Metro Health, during FY 07-08 (October 1, 2007 - September 30, 2008). The annual report is produced by the City's Communications and Public Affairs Department.
Reports
Every year Metro Health, through our Population-Based Services Division, compiles a health assessment of our local community. This report, called Health Profiles, details area demographics, education, disability, maternity statistics, child abuse, immunization rates, obesity, asthma, communicable diseases, and deaths.
