The Alliance Mission
To work collaboratively with health institutions, community organization and business leaders to create community health solutions for San Antonio and Bexar County.
Background
The Alliance for Community Health, formed under the direction of the San Antonio Metropolitan Health District, is strategically focused on improving the health of our community. The Alliance works in tandem with selected leaders and health organizations to form active committees mobilizing action throughout San Antonio and Bexar County.
Utilizing the MAPP tool, Mobilizing for Action through Planning and Partnerships, the Alliance for Community Health identifies how our limited community health resources can be effectively utilized within our community. The Alliance focuses on the following areas to determine priority community health issues:
• Local, State and Federal Public Policy
• Community Health Data Tracking
• Promoting Healthy Lifestyles
• Providing Access to Care
• Environmental Health
• Fostering a Sense of Community
