Assessment, Feedback, Incentive and Exchange (AFIX)

AFIX is a continuous quality improvement approach designed specifically to raise immunization coverage levels and improve standards of practices at the clinical level. The acronym stands for:

Assessment of immunization coverage levels at a clinical or practice level.
Feedback of diagnostic information to front line-staff and decision makers to improve clinical service delivery and enhance understanding of immunization practices.
Incentives for outcomes-provide extrinsic motivation to improve service and achieve goals.
eXchange of information-provides opportunities to share experiences and collectively address challenges and successes.

Why assess immunization rates?
Routine assessment and feedback of vaccination rates obtained at the provider site is one of the most effective strategies for achieving high, sustainable vaccine coverage.

AFIX provides the opportunity to influence and update practice behaviors and outcomes in any health care setting. The purpose is to move health care personnel from a state of unawareness in their practice, to one in which they are aware, concerned, and empowered with practical solutions to improve immunization practices and rates. QA/AFIX is dedicated to protecting our future through immunizations!

Participation in the VFC Program helps to ensure the health of our community while sharing valuable resources.
