Call for Entries Extended for 5th Annual Calendar Art Contest
K-12 students can submit artwork inspired by public health themes through Oct. 17
Young area students aspiring to be the next generation of Picassos, Rembrandts and Warhols as well as those who just simply like to doodle are invited to enter Metro Health’s Fifth Annual Calendar Art Contest. The competition, which gives students a chance to show off their art skills and educate our community about the importance of public health, now has an entry deadline of Friday, October 17.
Students are asked to use one of the following public health topics as inspiration for their artwork:
Good Oral Hygiene
Annual Health Check-Ups
Food Safety
Healthy Pregnancy
Importance of Immunizations
Hurricane/Flood Preparation
Future Dreams/Goals
Exercise & Health
Tobacco Prevention/Cessation (Stop Smoking)
Nutrition
Thirteen winners and honorable mentions will be selected to receive prizes and be recognized during an awards ceremony in January. The 2009 Metro Health calendars will be distributed at various locations throughout the community.
