San Antonio Worksite Wellness Task Force to hold Forum

Local employers invited to learn and network about wellness programs

Local employers looking to network with others and improve their worksite wellness programs are encouraged to attend a forum hosted by the San Antonio Worksite Wellness Task Force. The Worksite Wellness Forum is scheduled for Wednesday, November 4 at the San Antonio Water System headquarters, 2800 U.S. Hwy. 281 North. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m., with networking and the program taking place from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

The forum will feature a keynote presentation by Dr. John M. Folks, superintendent of Northside Independent School District, followed by a panel discussion on employee wellness program data collection efforts. The open exchange, entitled Know your risks! Collect data to drive your wellness program efforts, will allow attendees to learn of wellness program data collection efforts from other local employers. Panelists include: Rita Campos, Benefits Administrator, Bexar County; Laurin Lee Jimenez, District Manager, Social Security Administration; Rita Lopez, Human Resources Administrator, FBD Partnership, LP; and Kim Rash, Director of Benefits and Compensation, NuStar Energy, LP.

The San Antonio Worksite Wellness Task Force, an initiative of Metro Health, is a partnership of local employers and providers of worksite wellness programs and services. Its goal is to improve the health of the San Antonio workforce by providing the business community with opportunities to network, discuss best practices, and promote worksite wellness initiatives.

The forum in November will mark the second one by the task force, which launched its first event in June. Forums are intended to provide attendees a “how to” learning experience, rather than a presentation regarding worksite wellness programs in general. These events are open to all interested individuals.
