Lawrence Scott, II is a guidance counselor for San Antonio Independent School District and is the executive director of the Community for Life Foundation, which has seeded over $350,000 in scholarships for eligible college students. He is also the chief executive officer and founder of S.E.N.D. Consulting, which specializes in training educators, administrators, parents, and community leaders on best practices to reach students in urban districts. Lawrence has authored several books and currently serves as the vice president of the Talented Tenth Scholars San Antonio. He received his doctorate in educational leadership at the University of the Incarnate Word in May 2011 and currently serves as an adjunct professor for the Alamo Community College District.
Lawrence's goal in life has been to help make a difference in the lives of young people, and his passion for equitable access to educational and professional resources led him to serve on the Affirmative Action Advisory Committee in August 2013.
