Nora Murdock began her 23-year career at Indiana Bell Telephone Company (later to become Ameritech) in Indianapolis, Indiana. She worked in operator services while also serving as a union representative for the Communications Workers of America. Later on, Nora moved into a management position in Indiana Bell's marketing department.
After taking an early retirement, she moved to Florida and worked for several non-profit organizations. In 2005, Nora moved to San Antonio and is currently working in the health care services department of the Muscular Dystrophy Association. She joined the Affirmative Action Advisory Committee in October 2009 because she wanted to give back to her new community. Deciding to follow in her husband’s footsteps of public service, Nora talked to her councilperson about areas of need.
