Ryan Pflipsen is a mental health therapist at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. In this position, he assists families with children who have been diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. Ryan is also involved in diversity and Americans with Disabilities Act issues at the University of Texas. During his free time, he enjoys participating in adaptive sports programs in San Antonio and is involved in advocacy to improve San Antonio.
Ryan began serving on the Affirmative Action Advisory Committee in March 2012. Knowing of other social workers who serve as public servants in elected life, he began to explore various opportunities in various levels of government, such as committees, boards, and commissions at the local, state, and federal levels. As a social worker helping the disenfranchised, the Affirmative Action Advisory Committee seemed like a good fit to pursue assisting minorities and women in obtaining employment with the City of San Antonio.
