The Commission is comprised of three (3) members appointed by the City Manager and ratified by the City Council for three-year staggered terms. Members shall reside in the City of San Antonio; shall be over the age of 25 and not have held any public office within the preceding three (3) years. Commissioners shall receive compensation of $20.00 per meeting.
The Commission has the power of interpretation of Fire and Police Civil Service Rules. Such rules and regulations prescribe what constitutes cause for removal or suspension of Firefighters and Police Officers. Meetings are held the second Monday of each month at 10:00 AM at 111 Soledad, Human Resources Department, Employee Relations Division. Meeting duration is usually one to two hours depending on the agenda. Special meetings may be called.
