JOB SUMMARY:
Under general direction, is responsible for performing administrative,
supervisory work in the planning, scheduling, and maintenance of a 50 meter municipal
indoor swimming pool facility. Exercises direct supervision over assigned staff.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Manages the year-round natatorium to include: supervision, administration, budget,
evaluations, and implementation of programs and special events;
- Plans and promotes specialized Aquatic programs including swim meets and lessons, water
aerobics, lifesaving classes and special events;
- Prepares and submits reports (revenue, etc.), statistical data, and other administrative
duties as required; keeps supervisor informed on all pertinent programs and operational
matters;
- Recruits, hires, and trains personnel;
- Responsible for facility maintenance, supplies and safety;
- Performs related duties and fulfills responsibilities as required.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Two years in an accredited college or university with preferable coursework in
Recreation or Business Administration;
- Four years of supervisory experience in Education, Recreation, or Business;
- Instructor’s Certificates in Water Safety, First Aid, and CPR or obtain within six
months of probation period;
- Substitution Ratio: Two years of related experience may be substituted for one year of
higher education;
- Must possess a valid Class "C" Texas Driver’s License or obtain a valid
Class "C" Texas Driver’s License within thirty (30) days after becoming a
resident of the State of Texas;
- ANY APPLICANT SELECTED FOR EMPLOYMENT WITH THE CITY OF SAN ANTONIO WILL BE REQUIRED TO
SUBMIT TO PRE-EMPLOYMENT DRUG TESTING. FULL COMPLETION OF PRE-EMPLOYMENT DRUG TESTING WITH
A VERIFIED NEGATIVE RESULT IS A CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to swim and five years experience managing swimming pools.
