Career

Melody Woosley was appointed Director of the Department of Human Services on December 9, 2013. Ms. Woosley is responsible for the City’s Human Services programs including Head Start, Senior Centers, Community Learning Centers, and Family Assistance Centers. She has oversight of a $150 million budget and a personnel complement of over 300.

Prior to her appointment, Ms. Woosley served as Assistant Director of Human Services from 2008 to November, 2012. In this role, she oversaw the Head Start Division, Senior Services Division, and the City’s investment in the Haven for Hope Campus partnership.

Ms. Woosley has fourteen years experience with the City of San Antonio where she served in various positions before joining the Human Services management team.

Ms. Woosley has one daughter who is currently in her second year of college.
