The San Antonio Public Library will issue library cards to evacuees from the Hurricane Katrina area. Cards are available at no charge at any Library location, and will be valid for six months. After the initial six months, the need will be re-evaluated to determine if the cardholder period should be extended or the cardholder status should be changed to permanent.

All San Antonio Public Library locations are offering extended time and free printing for computer, Internet and email access, as well as assistance in getting online or accessing forms, to victims of Hurricane Katrina who need to contact family or begin the process of filing for government relief. Computer use is free.
