Dagoberto Gilb
Editor of Hecho en Tejas, a widely praised anthology of Texas Mexican
literature, Dagoberto Gilb will provide a reading of his critically
acclaimed work, The Flowers.

San Antonio Essays: Reflections of Hispanos
Write an essay about a Hispanic hero – a veteran, an astronaut, or your
mom or dad, big brother or sister – you could win a prize and your essay
could be published on the Library’s web page! Entries will be judged in
the age categories of children, teens and adults. Winners will be
announced and prizes awarded at the monthly meeting of the Memorial
Amigos on Wednesday, October 8, at 6:30 p.m. in the Memorial Branch
Library meeting room.
Stop by the Reference Desk at the Memorial Branch Library beginning
September 1 for your entry form.
Entry forms available September 1.
Winning entries will be published only with the permission of the
winners or their parents or legal guardians for those under the age of
18.
