Recognized as the first Chicano film-maker, Efraín Gutiérrez has been
honored by UCLA and Stanford University for his work. Please join the
director at special screenings of two of his films.
Barrio Tales: Tops, Kites and Marbles/Historias del barrio: peonzas,
cometas y canicas
Filmed in San Antonio, the director’s latest film
Barrio Tales is the
story of a very special bond between a grandfather and his
granddaughter. Together they help one another overcome the difficulties
of youth and face the hardships of aging. Stay after the presentation to
discuss the film with the director.
