Tax Assistance

The San Antonio Public Library will be offering VITA tax assistance for the 2008 tax season. Volunteers from the VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) program will provide tax assistance from Wednesday, January 23 through Tuesday, April 15, 2008 at the dates, times, and locations shown on the schedule.

This service is especially for persons with low-incomes and senior citizens needing help with the basic 1040 and 1040EZ tax form.

Library staff are not trained to answer tax questions. For information on the VITA site nearest you, check the City of San Antonio web page, www.sanantonio.gov, or call 211.

Tax Forms

Reproducible tax forms will be available (may be copied for a fee) for the public's use throughout the period we are offering the income tax assistance service. Reproducible forms will also be available after April 15.

San Antonio Public Libraries carry some tax forms with the Central Library's Government Documents Department (2nd floor) providing the largest variety of forms. Call (210) 207-2500 to see if the form you seek is available at the Central Library. See the Tax Web Sites section for web sites providing forms.
