Matsuri—a Japanese Community Festival

Celebrate Matsuri 2008 at the San Antonio Public Library!

The San Antonio Public Library and the Japan American Society of San Antonio welcome you to our Matsuri Japanese Festival.

About a Matsuri

Matsuri is a Japanese community festival offering visitors a glimpse into the many fascinating aspects of Japanese culture, from traditional dances, songs, music and puppetry, to toys, games, crafts, floral displays, arts of self-defense, and the traditional tea ceremony.

About the Japan America Society of San Antonio

The Japan America Society of San Antonio, or JASSA, was established in 1985 to foster increased understanding and cooperation between the citizens of San Antonio and the citizens of Japan. As a non-profit, educational and cultural group it has tried in numerous ways to make Japanese culture become better known in San Antonio. —Taken from the JASSA website

All activities are free and open to the public.
One hour of free parking is available in the Central Library parking garage with a validated ticket.
