Friends of McCreless Library

History
The Friends of McCreless Branch was organized on
March 3, 1993 and elected Vera Banner as its first President with 16
charter members. The group has been successful in raising both money and
awareness for the McCreless Library. The group has given money, books and
supplies for the enrichment of the branch.

Activities
- Annual Staff Appreciation Dinner
- Sponsorship of annual McCreless Summer Reading program Party and other Library programs throughout the year, primarily children's programs
- Adopted 2 neighborhood bus shelters
- Highland Park Neighborhood Association Spring Festival
- Highland Hills Neighborhood Association "Take Pride in Our Neighborhood Parades". Friends work at the Book Cellar and hold 2 or 3 book sales a year.
