History
Founded March 23, 1992.  The group has been extremely successful in raising funds and awareness for Oakwell Library. Membership currently exceeds 100!

Activities

• Yearly general meeting features program presented by local authors.
• Quarterly newsletter featuring branch activities.
• Quarterly book sales, third Saturday of February, May, August, and November.

The Oakwell Branch Friends have donated thousands of dollars to supplement the Oakwell Branch.  Funds for donated items included the purchasing of:

• a new outdoor sign for entrance into the parking lot,
• numerous pieces of equipment for the enrichment of branch service,
• money for special programs,
• annual Staff Appreciation Dinner,
• and providing printing of special flyers.

They have also volunteered for library projects such as helping out during:

• our inventory
• the opening celebration for the renovation of the branch
• a mascot contest at local elementary schools
• the summer reading programs and
• programs by providing refreshments

Board Meeting third Thursday of each month at 1:30pm
