Which Storytime is Right for Your Child
Because books and reading are an important part of
every child’s life, the library plans and presents a variety of
story programs with various ages and ability levels in mind.
Please use the descriptions provided here to determine which
program is best suited for your child and you can always consult
with the children’s librarian at your branch for specific
details and recommendations.
Baby Time
Designed for parents/caregivers to attend with their infants,
Baby Time can include short books, action songs and bouncing
rhymes. Plan on a fifteen to twenty minute
program with time for baby and caregiver socializing afterwards.
Toddler Time
This program is designed for active toddlers who are walking
independently and/or young children who are able to focus their
attention for brief periods of time. The books are short and
often invite action and participation. Parents/caregivers are
encouraged to join in the fun.
Story Time
Recommended for good listeners who are learning to love books.
Featured stories are varied in length—some encourage active
listening while others invite active participation.
Parents/caregivers are welcome to attend.
BACK Pack
BACK Pack programs include books, activities and crafts designed
with school-age kids in mind. With an emphasis on fun, the
sessions cover a variety of topics and offer a multitude of
creative opportunities.
Family Fun
Kids (and their grownups) are invited to these engaging and
entertaining library programs. You can count on some book
conversation, and maybe a read-aloud as well, followed by a
complimentary activity. All ages are welcome, although younger
children should be accompanied by an adult.
