SUMMER READING PROGRAM AT SAN ANTONIO PUBLIC LIBRARY

Summer 2005: Hot in Here!

Again this year, SAPL Summer Reading Program has something for everyone. From June 1 to July 30, Children, Teens and Adults have a way to read books for a chance to win prizes.

Children from newborns to those going into 5th grade can chill with Libro at the library and read. Visit any library branch for the Fun Guide to get the scoop on everything going on at your library for the whole summer. When you register you'll receive complete instructions for collecting prizes throughout the summer reading program.

Everyone is invited to attend this year's end of summer part. SummerFest 2005 will be held at the San Antonio Central Library on July 30th,  from 3pm to 5pm.

TEENS: Inferno—Stop. Drop. Read!/ˇInferno—Para, piensa, lee!....................Inferno—Stop. Drop. Read! / ˇInferno—Para. Piensa. Lee!

Every time you read a book fill out a raffle ticket to be entered into 4 drawings for great prizes. Not a fast reader? If you read even one book this summer you are eligible for 2 raffles! Looking for a good read? Check-out Teen Services BookLinks for recommendations.

Teens can celebrate SummerFest 2005 at the San Antonio Central Library on July 30th with Disco Inferno!, from 5pm to 7pm in the Central Library Auditorium.

ADULTS: Some Like It Hot!/Si te gusta picante y caliente....................Some Like It Hot / Si Te Gusta Picante y Caliente

Back by popular demand for a second year, the adult program is designed for high school students and older. Read a book from a different genre each week (choose from: Mystery · Western · Classics · Historical · Biography · Sci-Fi · Reader's Choice), and then bring your reading log to your library to receive a raffle ticket. There will be a total of 7 raffles and one grand prize drawing.

This year's end of summer party, SummerFest 2005, is at the San Antonio Central Library on July 30th, from 3pm to 5pm.

South Texas Herpetology AssociationSouth Texas Herpetology Association
Hot, dry South Texas is home to crawly animals of all kinds - but wait! Most are beneficial and some are even cute. Did you know snakes and lizards aren’t slimy? They’re dry and sort of cool. Members of the South Texas Herpetology Association will visit the library with live snakes, lizards, and maybe even the odd spider, scorpion or frog, for you to meet up close and personal. Find out all about how they live and why we should make sure they stick around. Interested in finding out more? Visit http://www.kingsnake.com.
