What: Grand Re-opening of
Brook Hollow Branch Library The San Antonio Public Library Board of Trustees announces the completion of expansion and renovation work at the Brook Hollow Branch Library, 530 Heimer Road. Councilman Kevin Wolff will join City staff and Library Board members at the re-opening ceremony scheduled for 12:00 noon Monday, January 9. The public is invited to the program. Regular library service will resume at the branch following the ceremony. The Brook Hollow Branch was closed in May 2005 to begin improvements valued at $1.019 million. The building expansion includes an additional 1,500 square feet for a new children’s area and a quiet study room. The public service area was reconfigured to allow more efficient use of space and make it more “customer friendly.” Additional improvements include replacing the roof, upgrading the heating, ventilation and air conditioning system and much of the interior lighting, and reconfiguring the parking lot to improve traffic flow. The renovation was funded through proceeds from the 1999 Bond Election, 2002 Community Obligation Bonds, and the 2003 Bond Election.0. Posted/Updated: 01/06/2006 |
