What: Cinema Soledad—Jailhouse Rock
Where: Central Library Children's Story Room, 600 Soledad
When: Thursday, August 16, 6:00 - 8:30 p.m.

Join Central Library for a new film series: Cinema Soledad. Focusing on independent, foreign and classic films, our monthly films will give adults a new angle on cinema.

This August is the 30th Anniversary of Elvis Presley’s passing. So come celebrate his life by watching Elvis’ third film Jailhouse Rock. Many critics believed that Jailhouse Rock was one of Elvis’ best acting performances. This film is about a young man sent to prison, when he accidentally kills a man in a barroom brawl. While behind bars he takes up singing and is helped in the record business by beautiful young woman.

The program is free and open to the public. Patrons are encouraged to bring snacks.

One hour of free parking is available in the Central Library parking garage with a validated ticket. For more information, the public may call 207-2500.
