Get a Library CardLibrary cards are free to anyone residing within Bexar County. Your card must be renewed annually. Please bring recent proof of residence with you to obtain a replacement card or to renew an existing card. To obtain a library card, you will need to visit any Library location and fill out a Library Card Application. The Library accepts a Texas driver’s license or other photo ID as proof of residency. Children under 13 who live in Bexar County and have proof of residency, or are accompanied by a parent or guardian with appropriate identification, will be issued cards. If you live outside of Bexar County, but you can prove ownership of property within Bexar County, you are eligible for a card, without charge, upon presentation of appropriate identification and property tax record. If you own a business in Bexar County, you are eligible for a card without charge upon presentation of appropriate identification and an Assumed Name Certificate of Registration (issued by Bexar County) or a Sales Tax Permit (issued by the State Comptroller’s Office). Persons who live outside Bexar County may purchase a card good for one year at a charge of $100 per year or for a 3-month period at a charge of $30. Please bring a current photo ID to receive your card. Teacher’s Card Any teacher, registered daycare provider, student teacher, or
home-schooling adult who resides in Bexar County and can provide appropriate
identification and proof of current address is eligible for a Teacher's Card in
addition to his/her personal card. This card can be used to borrow up to
thirty-five books for six weeks for classroom use. Persons living outside Bexar
County are not eligible for a Teacher's Card. |
