Get involved — VOLUNTEER! The work of every volunteer supports our library
system.
Volunteering can be rewarding
Volunteering just a few hours of your time each week can lead to several
positive results:
- You'll meet new people
- Have new experiences
- Gain valuable information about what your library has to offer, and best
of all,
- You'll gain a sense of satisfaction from helping others.
Volunteering is easy
Call our Central Library at (210) 207-2649 and speak with our staff about
volunteering. We'll help you decide where your talents and interests can best
help the San Antonio Public Library serve others.
A few ways you might volunteer...
Assist with children's activities.Check the Library's web links.Help keep our video,
DVD and CD collections in order.Help others with genealogy research or help maintain our
Texana
information.Help set up exhibits.Keep
periodical materials in order.Share your knowledge and talents at the
Central Library or your
neighborhood branch library.
Shelve books.Work with special projects or maintain library materials.
What we look for in a volunteer:
Age 14 years and up.Possess personal qualities of maturity and reliability.Willing to serve as a member of the library team.Flexible, willing and committed to perform duties assigned in a
responsible manner.Be willing to adhere to library policies and rules.
