been carefully selected by professional librarians for the higher education community in
the United Kingdom.

- ArtLex: Dictionary of Visual Art - ArtLex is a
browseable collection of terms and definitions, often accompanied by images, graphics and
links to museum sites. One can search for words or find longer articles about specific
topics such as Expressionism or paper. Artists' names are not included within ArtLex's
terms and definitions, but art styles and movements are, so you can find Cezanne and four
examples of his work under "watercolor," for instance, and other examples of his
work under other categories. Students and teachers will find ArtLex particularly helpful.
- ArtSource - Includes links to both art and
architecture resources such as bibliographies, art programs, art libraries, artists
projects and art journals online. This site is selective, rather than comprehensive.
- Catholic Online Saints & Angels
- Throughout history artists have depicted saints and angles, but who exactly was St.
Justin? In the Middle Ages, when much of the populace could not read, religious art was
used to tell the stories of the Church. Conversely, today many people know how to read
words but have no idea how to "read" religious painting. This online resource is
a must for anyone looking at religious art.

constitute one of the strongest bodies of art history materials in the Southwest. The
collections contain over 64,000 titles, as well as 121,000 microforms of rare and
hard-to-find materials.

nineteenth and twentieth centuries. The catalog indexes over 700 designers, over
1,600 designer labels, and over 150 object types.
