2012 Martin Luther King, Jr. Distinguished Achievement Award
On October 19, 2011, the City of San Antonio Martin Luther King, Jr. Commission honored Aaronetta Pierce with the 2012 Martin Luther King, Jr. Distinguished Achievement Award. Ms. Pierce, the first Chair of the MLK Commission, was recognized for her community efforts in helping establish the local MLK March as an annual tradition and for her commitment to human rights, equal educational opportunity and economic well-being for all - principles that embody the vision of Dr. King.
