Art A. Hall served the maximum two two-year terms on San Antonio City Council
as the District 8 Council elected representative from 2003-2007. He was
appointed MLK Commission Chair for the 2012 and 2013 years in February 2011. He
is married to Stephanie Hall and they have one daughter, Londyn, age 6. Mr. Hall
is a graduate of Harvard University (BA, 1993), Texas Tech University (JD/MBA,
1996), and the University of Wales at Aberystwyth (UK) (LLM, 2000).
At times living in trailer houses while growing up, Mr. Hall today is an attorney,
investor, and now Dean of Workforce Development and Continuing Education at St.
Philip's College, a historically Black college and Hispanic-serving institution
and part of the Alamo Community College District. Mr. Hall also serves as
President/CEO of artah Holdings, Inc., his investment vehicle, and of Dos Veces
Hall Ranch, Inc., which manages land once owned by his great grandfather and
grandfather.
In 1999, Mr. Hall was selected by the San Antonio Business Journal as one of the
city’s “Top 40 Under 40 Rising Stars,” and was recognized by SA Scene Monthly,
along with Mayor Phil Hardberger, as one of San Antonio’s “Most Influential of
2005.”
He is a board member of the Texas Tech National Alumni Association, the Texas
Tech Law School Foundation, the Bexar County AgriLife Extension Office
Leadership Advisory Board, and the Claude and ZerNona Black Developmental
Leadership Foundation.
His hobbies include general aviation flying, equestrian eventing, golfing,
outdoor sporting, piano, poetry, traveling, languages and collecting stamps and
coins.
