Homebuyer's Club Program One of the most important investments you will ever make is the purchase of a home. The process of getting into your first home can be long, frustrating, and confusing for many first-time homebuyers.
The Housing & Neighborhood Services Department administers a program called the Homebuyers' Club. The Homebuyers' Club Program addresses each of these important questions and much, much more. Speakers are also available to lend their expertise to all homebuyer class participants on issues such as: mortgage payment assistance, how to reduce your property values, homeowner's insurance, homeownership rights and other topics that will be beneficial to new homeowners. The Housing & Neighborhood Services Department (HNSD's) Homebuyers' Club Program is a structured consumer education program, which covers the entire home buying process. The HNSD's Homebuyers' Club class is open to the general public, providing 8 hours of in-depth training on the home buying process. Class fee will include textbook, HUD approved homebuyer class, credit report, one-to-one credit counseling and certificate of completion. Sessions are conducted in the mornings and evenings for the convenience of participants (registration is required). For families who cannot be initially pre-qualified, our staff assists them with resolving credit and budget issues so that they may qualify at a later date. If program participants have long-term credit problems, they may be referred to an agency such as ACORN Housing or the San Antonio Housing Trust for additional assistance. Take advantage of all of the above which is included in the Homebuyers’ Club for $40. BenefitsParticipating in the Homebuyers' Club yields numerous benefits, which include the following:
