The City of San Antonio is seeking applicants for a variety of At-Large
Boards and Commissions. The positions available are as follows:
7/3: PERF report
recommendations provided to residents
The City released today the results of the Police Executive Research Forum
(PERF) report which evaluated polices and procedures of the San Antonio
Police Department (SAPD). The study was recommended last November by
Police Chief William McManus to examine how the department can improve
service delivery to residents as well as address high-profile policies
within the department including departmental training practices; the
use-of-force and the process by which citizens file complaints against
officers.
7/3: Applications
sought for Police and Fire Civil Service Commission
Applications are now being accepted for the Firefighters’ and
Police Officers’ Civil Service Commission. Citizens who wish to apply
for the board may obtain an application from the Office of the City
Clerk (located on the second floor of City Hall) 100 Military Plaza, or
by visiting

recycling program for multi-family housing properties
The City’s Solid Waste Management Department will be conducting a
pilot recycling program for multi-family housing properties.
6/27: Free Landfill Disposal
Day
It’s that time of the year again, time to clean out all of
those unwanted items piling up in your closet and garage and take them
to the City’s free landfill disposal day.
6/23: Independence
Day holiday schedule of City services
Garbage, recyclables and brush will be collected on
Friday, July 4, while City Hall and most municipal offices will be
closed to observe the Independence Day holiday.
6/23: River North master plan
seeking property owner participation
The City of San Antonio invites property owners in the River
North planning area who have an interest in serving on the planning team
to contact the Office of Planning and Community Development to indicate
their interest by Monday, June 30.
6/19: India conglomerate to
invest $1 million in Alamo City
The City’s International Affairs department today announced that one of
India’s fastest growing conglomerates will invest $1 million in the Alamo
City. The Guidelines Group will establish an office in San Antonio and
invest in the real estate, IT, trading and healthcare industries. The
announcement comes four months after Mayor Phil Hardberger’s trade mission
to India where he and other local leaders worked towards making Chennai,
India San Antonio’s newest Sister City.
6/19: Houston Street Fair
brings Bull Riding to Downtown San Antonio
Who says you need to wait until February for a rodeo? Dust off your cowboy
hat, boots, and jeans and head out to this month’s Houston Street Fair and
Market (HSF)! On Saturday, June 28, 45 bucking bulls will make
their way to the Alamo.

City office?
If you have ever had an interest in politics or have been
considering running for Mayor or City Council, the Office of the City
Clerk in conjunction with the Office of the City Attorney and the Texas
Ethics Commission are hosting upcoming workshops.
6/17: City set to host graffiti
workshop
The City’s Housing and Neighborhood Services Department will
host a graffiti workshop from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, June
28 at the Carver Community Cultural Center, 226 N. Hackberry.

Hours of Operation
As the summer gets underway, the City’s Downtown Operations Department
announces its summer hours for Market Square.
6/13: Public invited to Crime
and Public Safety Workshop for the Eastern Triangle Community Plan
The City's Planning and Community Development Department,
in partnership with the San Antonio Police Department, Housing and Neighborhood
Services Department, and the Animal Care Services Department, has scheduled a
public meeting on Tuesday, June 17
from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Highland Social Club, 2929 S. W. W.
White, to discuss crime and public safety issues for the the Eastern Triangle
Community Plan.
6/12: City’s Housing and
Neighborhood Services Department receives national recognition
The City of San Antonio’s Housing and Neighborhood Services
Department’s Tax Increment Financing (TIF) Program is being recognized
with the National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials’ (NAHRO)
Award of Merit in Housing and Community Development for their efforts in
the revitalization of the San Antonio River and the former Brooks Air
Force Base.
6/12: City’s Business Retention
& Expansion Program Helps Create 500 New Jobs on the East Side
KLN Steel Products has unveiled plans
to consolidate its nationwide operations in San Antonio and add 500 new jobs to
their local workforce. The company, which manufactures high quality
institutional furniture, currently employs 200 people at their present location
in San Antonio at 2 Winnco Drive and is making plans to secure additional
facilities to meet production and workforce demands for their expanded
operations.
6/11: City announces new round
of playground inspections
Mayor Phil Hardberger and City Manager Sheryl Sculley announced today that
the City would begin a fresh round of comprehensive inspections of all its
114 playgrounds. “There is no higher priority for us as a community than
the safety of our children,” Mayor Hardberger said.
6/11: Educating youth on the
effects of graffiti
Combating graffiti takes a community effort, including, law
enforcement, clean-up efforts and anti-graffiti education. Educating
elementary school children can be an effective way of wiping out
graffiti. As part of their efforts to continue to abate graffiti in San
Antonio, the City’s Housing and Neighborhood Services Department’s
Graffiti Abatement Program will donate two copies of the book Graffiti
in Tahiti by Victoria Wilson-Merritt for each of the 24 public libraries
at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, June 16 at a news conference at the Central
Library, 600 Soledad.
6/7: City of San Antonio announces
changes in summer youth recreation fees
The City of San Antonio announced Saturday that fees
for the Parks and Recreation Department’s summer youth recreation programs
have been reduced to ensure lower to middle income working families have
full access.
6/3: Voelcker Park Event to
feature birding tour
Beginning and experienced birders alike are invited to enjoy a
bird walk at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 7, at Voelcker Park, 12000 N.W.
Military Highway, as part of an event sponsored by the San Antonio Parks
and Recreation Department. The entrance for the community event is on
N.W. Military Highway, just south of the Campus of the San Antonio
Jewish Community.
6/2: City of San Antonio leads
the way with electronic campaign filing system
We are one big Texas family. The City of San Antonio has
partnered with the City of Dallas to help them implement a web-based
online electronic filing system to create and file campaign finance
reports.
5/30: City seeks input on River
Walk Capital Improvements Master Plan
The public will get its first glimpse of a comprehensive plan for River
Walk improvements when the City of San Antonio's Downtown Operations
Department unveils a draft of the River Walk Capital Improvements Master
Plan at a community meeting scheduled for 5:00 p.m. to
7:00 p.m. on Monday, June 2.
5/29: San Antonio Police
Department promotes four officers
Over the last month, San Antonio Police Chief William McManus has promoted
four officers to the San Antonio Police Department’s (SAPD) Command Staff.
All of their experiences and background will help the SAPD move forward in
its commitment to providing quality services to the citizens of San
Antonio.
5/28: Public invited to meeting
for the Eastern Triangle Community Plan
The City of San Antonio Planning and Community Development Department, in
partnership with the Eastern Triangle Planning Team, has scheduled a
public meeting for community stakeholders to provide their vision for the
proposed Eastern Triangle Community Plan. The Public Meeting is scheduled
for Saturday, May 31 from 9:00 a.m. to noon at the Boys and Girls
Club of San Antonio, 3503 Martin Luther King Drive.
5/27: City’s 2008 Community
Survey completed
In 2007, the City of San Antonio contracted with the Cultural Policy
Institute (CPI) of the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) to
conduct a city-wide community survey in January/February of 2008. The
survey was conducted in both English and Spanish by telephone.
5/27: Municipal Court begins
extended Night Court service
Starting June 1, Municipal Court will extend its service to the community
through new convenient night court hours. The court will hear hourly
non-jury trials Monday through Thursday in accordance with the following
schedule: Monday and Thursday non-jury trials will be heard at 5:00 p.m.,
6:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday non-jury trials will be
heard at 4:00 p.m., 5:00 p.m., 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.
5/20: “Texas Sales and Use Tax
Permits”
On Wednesday, June 11, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the
Frost Bank Tower, 100 West Houston St., Suite 1900, the City's Economic
Development Department (EDD) Small Business Division will be hosting a
free seminar for prospective business owners wanting to learn about the
Texas Sales and Use Tax Permit.
5/19: Solid Waste Management
launches campaign to help San Antonio become better environmental
stewards
The City’s Solid Waste Management Department is ready to change how
residents think about solid waste. Today, the department launched a
public awareness campaign to encourage residents to become better
environmental stewards by recycling and learning new tools to help
reduce their overall household waste.

Garbage, recyclables and brush will be collected on Monday, May 26,
while City Hall and most municipal offices will be closed to observe the Memorial

5/16: Public meeting scheduled
to solicit ideas for memorial honoring war heroes
The City will hold a public meeting from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30
a.m. on Tuesday, May 27 in the Municipal Auditorium basement, 100
Auditorium Circle.
5/14: City Manager Appoints New
Deputy City Manager
City Manager Sheryl Sculley has named A.J. Rodriguez as Deputy City
Manager. He will join the City’s management team on June 30, 2008. As
Deputy City Manager, Rodriguez will oversee the areas of Economic
Development, Intergovernmental Affairs, International Affairs, the
Library system and Parks and Recreation.
5/14: Town Hall meeting set to
discuss BRAC 2005
District 2 residents are invited to a Town Hall at 6:00 p.m. on
Tuesday, May 20 at the Little Carver Civic Center, 226 N. Hackberry to

will have an opportunity to provide input on proposed changes to the

The City of San Antonio Planning and Community Development Department, in

Community Stakeholders will have an opportunity to review and provide input on

4/18: First woman promoted to
Assistant Police Chief in City’s history
San Antonio Police Chief William McManus announced today his promotion of
the first woman to the position of Assistant Police Chief. Effective
April 19, 2008, Deputy Chief Geraldine J. Garcia will be the first
Hispanic woman in the San Antonio Police Department (SAPD) to serve as
Assistant Chief on the Police Chief’s Command Staff. As Assistant Police
Chief, Garcia will oversee the Tactical Support Division and the
Investigations Division, as the Commander of the Administration Bureau.

input for its 2009 budget
In preparation for developing the Fiscal Year 2009 Budget,
the City of San Antonio is looking for input from the community through its
Budget Input Box program. This initiative is available in both English and
Spanish language.
4/17: Voelcker Park consultants
to unveil master design plan on April 30
Citizens will soon have the opportunity to view the proposed
Voelcker Park master plan design developed with extensive public input
over the past several months. At 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 30, at the
Campus of the San Antonio Jewish Community Center, Holzman Auditorium,
12500 N.W. Military Drive, consultants will unveil their work at a
community meeting.

2008 Official City Fiesta® Medal on sale
In celebration of this year’s Fiesta®, the City invites you display your
San Antonio pride with the Official City of San Antonio Fiesta® 2008
Medal. This year’s medal affirms that San Antonio is deep in our hearts,
taking the shape of the city’s brand identity launched by the Convention &
Visitors Bureau in February.
4/15: Citizens reminded of
neighborhood on-street parking regulations during Alamodome and downtown
special events
With the 2008 Fiesta celebration just days away, the City’s Downtown
Operations Department wants to remind citizens of the neighborhood
on-street parking decal program rules for Alamodome and other downtown
special events. This rule will be strictly enforced each day during the
Fiesta Carnival starting Wednesday, April 16 through Sunday, April 27.
Enforcement will be from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and
from 10:00 a.m. to midnight on weekends.

close certain streets
Thousands of revelers will converge on downtown San Antonio
soon for Fiesta 2008 events. Motorists will be diverted as the City closes
several downtown and other streets to accommodate each event.
4/13: City reminds
citizens to remember the yard parking rules during Fiesta celebrations
Viva Fiesta! As the city gets ready for their annual 10-day
celebration of food, parades and various festivities, the City’s Housing
and Neighborhood Services Code Compliance Division and the Police
Department want to send a friendly reminder about the parking rules during
this time of celebration.

opening celebration street closures
Due to the opening celebration of Main Plaza – The Heart of the
City on Sunday, April 13, the City will close several streets and divert
traffic around the plaza to accommodate the event.

applications for Planning Commission
Applications are being sought for an open position on the City
of San Antonio’s Planning Commission. The appointed member will serve out
the unexpired term until October 12, 2008.

activities showcase San Antonio’s history
The opening of Main Plaza – The Heart of the City on Sunday,
April 13, will offer plenty of fun for all of San Antonio’s citizens.

The opening of Main Plaza – The Heart of the City is just five
days away. On Sunday, April 13, the city known for its grand celebrations

accepting proposals for Camp Bullis Joint Land Use Study
The City’s Office of Military Affairs Department is accepting proposals to
develop a Camp Bullis Joint Land Use Study. In addition to providing the
surrounding communities with a detailed assessment of the area, the study
will provide a current baseline of existing incompatible land use
surrounding the installation and provide an assessment of regional growth
trends along corridors.

The International Hispanic Network has appointed Edward Benavides,

successfully accomplishes its goals and objectives in the coming years.
4/3: Citizens reminded of
neighborhood on-street parking regulations during downtown special events
As the city gears up for the NCAA® Men’s Final Four® this weekend, the
City’s Downtown Operations Department and Housing and Neighborhood
Services Code Compliance Division want to remind citizens of the rules for
the neighborhood on-street parking decal program. This rule will be
strictly enforced each day during the Final Four® events taking place
April 5-7.
4/2: SAPD Headquarters named
as site for new Federal Courthouse
The U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) announced today that the
San Antonio Police Headquarters located at 214 W. Nueva has been selected
as the site for the new San Antonio Federal Courthouse.

Thousands of college basketball fans will converge on downtown San Antonio
this weekend for the 2008 NCAA® Men’s Final Four® events. Motorists will

4/1: Volunteer Income Tax
Assistance sites open until April 15
The April 15 tax season filing deadline is fast approaching and the City’s
Department of Community Initiatives (DCI) and its partners in the San
Antonio Coalition for Family Economic Progress (SACFEP) want to encourage
eligible taxpayers who have not filed their 2007 income tax return to take
advantage of the services offered through the Volunteer Income Tax
Assistance (VITA) program.
3/27: Man’s best friends
invited to Dog Tails on Voelcker Trails
Bring your best friends and family to join the City’s Parks and
Recreation Department for an organized dog walk and open house to be held
Saturday, April 5 from 9:00 a.m. to noon at the future Voelcker Park,
12000 N.W. Military Highway.
3/27: Foreclosure prevention
workshop offers homeowners options
The City’s Department of Community Initiatives (DCI) is presenting a free
workshop to help prevent San Antonio homeowners who are behind on their
mortgage payments from losing their homes. The workshop is
scheduled from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 29 at
Northwest Vista College, Huisache Hall (Student Center), 3535 N. Ellison
Drive.
3/24: City participates in
National Super Saturday-Economic Stimulus Day
Seniors, low income residents and disabled veterans are encouraged to file
their 2007 tax return for free at any Volunteer Income Tax Assistance
(VITA) site on Saturday, March 29 as the City participates in the
IRS-sponsored National Super Saturday – Economic Stimulus Day.

other old items sitting around the house taking up space then it’s time
for you kick-it-up a notch by taking your spring cleaning to the next
level. The City is holding its annual City-wide Cleanup Day on April 5.
3/24: 60+ Mardi Gras Parade
features senior royalty
San Antonio’s unofficial “krewe” of City-sponsored senior nutrition
centers will bring East Side streets alive as the 60+ Mardi Gras Parade
celebrates its 15th year on Friday, March 28, at 10:00 a.m. Similar to the
New Orleans festivities, kings and queens representing 40 senior nutrition
centers will lead the way as decorative floats wind their way along a
four-mile route from Martin Luther King Park, located at 3503 MLK Drive,
to Comanche Park #2, located at 2600 Rigsby.
3/20: Public Meeting rescheduled for
the Proposed E. Commerce Street Arts & Entertainment District
The City of San Antonio Planning and Community
Development Department in partnership with San Antonio for Growth on the
Eastside (SAGE) will be holding a public meeting for community stakeholders
to provide their input on design standards for the proposed East Commerce
Street Arts & Entertainment District. This meeting has been rescheduled for
Wednesday, March 26 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Claude W. Black
Community Center, 2805 E. Commerce Street.

Justice set for March 29
San Antonians are invited to several events commemorating the legacy of
civil rights leader Cesar E. Chavez, including the 12th Annual Cesar E.
Chavez March for Justice on Saturday, March 29.
3/19: Artist selected for
Mayor’s memorial to
honor San Antonio’s war heroes
On March 14 City Council approved a $50,000 contract with
Barbara Grygutis Sculpture LLC, for the conceptual design of a memorial to
honor local Medal of Honor recipients in the Veterans Memorial Plaza
Historic District (formally known as Auditorium Circle Historic District).
3/17: Historic Main Plaza
opening day celebration plans announced
Established in 1731 as the Villa de San Fernando by Spanish settlers of
the Canary Islands, Main Plaza has always been at the center of San
Antonio’s municipal government. Being lauded as the Heart of the
City, plans were announced today for the Main Plaza opening day
celebration, scheduled for Sunday, April 13.
3/14: Centro Info Center offers
24-hour restroom facilities
Downtown San Antonio is host to two of the top tourist attractions in the
state of Texas. Each year the city hosts more than 26 million visitors and
as visitation increases so does the demand for public restrooms serving
visitors and citizens in the downtown area, the City officially opened the
doors today to the Centro Info Center, located under the northeast ramp of
the Riverbend Parking Garage at 412 E. Commerce.
3/14: City looking for a few
good gallons of paint
Got paint? If you have cans of paint sitting around your home
collecting dust then the City has a proposition for you. The City’s
Housing and Neighborhood Services Department’s Graffiti Abatement Program
in partnership with the Solid Waste Management Department is looking for a
few good gallons of paint as they kick-off a paint drive next week to
collect a minimum of 2000 gallons of paint for their 2008 Graffiti Wipeout
event.
3/13: Public Hearing set to
discuss priority housing, community development needs
San Antonio residents are invited to attend a public meeting to
discuss priority housing and community development needs on Monday, March 17
in the City Council Chambers at the Municipal Plaza Building, 103 S. Main
Ave. Interested citizens can sign up to speak starting at 6:00 p.m. The meeting
will start at 7:00 p.m.

home in historic Main Plaza
Two live oak trees will find a permanent home in the City’s newly
renovated Main Plaza. The nearly 40 year-old trees are currently located
at the Briscoe Western Museum on the River Walk and are scheduled to make
their way to the city’s historic center of downtown tonight through Market
Street.

The City’s Development Services Department’s San Antonio
Building Codes Academy (SABCA) will be hosting four six hour seminars May

3/1: Low-income, recipients of
Social Security and veteran’s benefits urged to file tax return
The City’s Department of Community Initiatives (DCI) is advising local
residents that the only way to receive an economic stimulus payment this
year is to file a 2007 tax return. This includes people who are not normally required to
file such as
low-income workers, those who receive Social Security benefits and those
who receive veteran’s disability compensation, pension or survivor
benefits.

A new City of San Antonio web site boasting colorful photos and
improved public access will go live on Friday, February 29. The site
features a community meeting video, detailed maps of the Voelcker Park
project and clearly outlined links, making the site user friendly and easy
to navigate.The site contains information on the history of Voelcker Park
and the latest information on meetings, site tours and consultant visits.
The new address, www.voelckerpark.com, will be easier for citizens to
locate and to remember.

Stimson Associates and D.I.R.T. Studio, consultants for the

The City’s Solid Waste Management Department wants you to get
brushed up on the rules for brush collection. In an effort to make sure
residents are prepared when it’s their turn for collection, the City is
enhancing its brush and bulky item program’s notification system.

The City of San Antonio Planning and Community Development Department, in

Tuesday, February 26 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Heritage

Mayor Phil Hardberger will lead a delegation of city leaders in a trade

residents with financial assistance
The City’s Center for Working Families (CWF) is hosting a Resource Fair
from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 15, 2008 at the Willie C.
Velasquez Learning Center at 1302 N. Zarzamora Street. Residents can get
information on a variety of City programs including child care, utility
assistance, job counseling, job placement and free income tax preparation
services.

400,000 square feet of graffiti in three months
The City of San Antonio is making strides when it comes to wiping out
graffiti within the city.
2/13: Final week begins for
delayed warrant arrest period
Individuals with outstanding misdemeanor warrants have until February 18
to submit payment and avoid the risk of arrest under a delayed enforcement
period. Already, more than 7,808 warrants have been cleared at Municipal
Court as a result of the delayed enforcement. The 2008 Statewide Warrant
Roundup is set to begin on Tuesday, February 19.

International Affairs Department launches
2008 San Antonio Export Leaders Program
The City of San Antonio International Affairs Department is accepting
applications for the 2008 San Antonio Export Leaders Program (SAELP). The
program is designed for companies that are considering entering or expanding
their position in the global marketplace. To date, 79 graduates have
successfully generated more than $40 million after completing the program.
Application deadline is April 18.

for individuals with outstanding warrants
In preparation for the 2008 Statewide Warrant Roundup, the City’s
Municipal Court announced today that individuals who have unpaid fines
related to misdemeanor violations such as traffic violations and City
ordinance violations will have from now until February 18 to submit
payment under a grace period.

report on bond program
City Council will hear a progress report on the $550
million Bond Program that San Antonio citizens approved last May during the Council’s B-Session,
scheduled for 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 30, in the “B” Room of the
Municipal Plaza Building. The Council will be briefed
on the 151 projects that make up the largest bond program in the city’s

Mayor Phil Hardberger’s 2008 State of the City Address is being replayed
continuously on TVSA, Cable Channel 21 -- the City’s government access
channel, today and will be replayed through February 9. The Address will
air Saturday and Sunday at 9:00 a.m. It will also air Monday through
Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m.
1/25: Houston Street Fair
brings Wild West experience to Downtown San Antonio
Thirty-five Longhorn cattle will steer down Houston Street accompanied by
authentic cowboys on horseback to kick off the rodeo-themed Houston Street
Fair and Market (HSFM) on Saturday, January 26. The cattle drive
will begin at 11:00 a.m. at IH-35 and Houston Street and head east to the
Alamo.

between private property rights and respect for military mission
Council voted today to approve the Matrix Design group as the
contractor who will proceed with conducting the Joint Land Use Study (JLUS)
commissioned by the city. The group was chosen because of their
experience, having recently participated in seven JLUS’ around the
nation, and their familiarization with Texas military instillations. The
Matrix Design group can now set out studying the area and the viable
options for appropriate land use around the camp.

Mayor Phil Hardberger will be honored with the Dean’s Medal for Public
Service from the Columbia Graduate School of Journalism. The award
recognizes individuals who have made a significant contribution to society
through their professional accomplishments and civic involvement. The
presentation will take place tomorrow during the Columbia University Alumni
Weekend in New York.

District 4 City Councilman Philip Cortez works to create a permanent
solution to flooding that occurred due to Tropical Storm Erin in the
summer of 2007, by approving a developer participation agreement.

introduce new Public Works Director at the first District 10 Public Works
Town Hall Meeting
Last month, the City’s Public Works Department welcomed Majed A. Al-Ghafry
as the new director. In conjunction with the new administrative changes,
Public Works will host a town hall meeting to discuss the new services and
programs offered to the constituents of District 10. Additionally citywide
issues, such as street maintenance, drainage, sidewalks, and traffic signal
synchronization will be addressed.
3/6: District 5 seeks volunteers for
Elmendorf Beautification Project
District 5 Councilwoman Lourdes Galvan will join
neighborhood residents and members of the Elmendorf Lake Beautification
Committee this Saturday, March 8 at Elmendorf Lake Park in District 5 as she
leads residents in their efforts to beautify the park. Volunteers are needed
to assist in this beautification and community tree planting project which
will take place from 9:00 a.m. until 9:45 a.m. Volunteers will meet in the
pool parking lot at Elmendorf Lake Park located at 3700 W. Commerce.
2/28: Mayor announces Chennai, India Sister City
Agreement
On Wednesday, February 27, Mayor Phil Hardberger and Chennai, India’s Mayor
M. Subramaniam signed a Sister City agreement between the two cities. During
a teleconference held today, Mayor Hardberger discussed how San Antonio’s
Sister City agreement with Chennai
will lay the foundation for significant economic and cultural exchanges in
such areas as commerce, health, education, and technology.
2/22: Councilman Clamp to
host special flag raising ceremony
The Semmes Library will be the first library in District 10 to be honored
with the installation of the Texas state flag. On Friday, February 29, 2008,
at 9:00a.m., District 10 Councilman John G. Clamp, in collaboration with the
James Madison High School color guard, will host a symbolic flag raising
ceremony in honor of Texas Independence Day and Texas Flag Day.
