Councilwoman Taylor helps local youth get on track for success with the "What's Next?" Summit - Tackling Career and College Readiness

District 2 Councilwoman Ivy R. Taylor invites San Antonio youth to attend the "What's Next?" Summit - Tackling Career and College Readiness on Saturday, Nov. 5, 2011 from 9 a.m.-12:15 p.m. at Sam Houston High School, 4635 E. Houston St.

The Summit is designed to be a fun and informative way for youth and young adults ages 13 to 21, to challenge themselves and answer the question "What's Next?" regarding college and/or career planning. Educators, community leaders and fellow youth will co-facilitate break-out sessions about the necessity of the college experience, the transition from high school to college, resume writing and more. College, Gap Year, GED and Certificate Program information will be available to help students move forward in making those decisions. Students can also enjoy live music, spoken word poetry and free food during the summit.
