District 4 Back-to-School Health Fair sets attendance, immunization records

Approximately 4,000 people attended this year's District 4 Back to School Health Fair with 1,902 children receiving medical services, setting an all-time record for the number of children receiving immunizations at the annual event. Councilman Rey Saldaña and CentroMed sponsored the fair held this past Saturday at CentroMed Southwest Branch Clinic.

The fair provided a variety of medical services for school-aged kids. Each child also received backpacks filled with school supplies such as pens, pencils, and notebooks. This free event, made possible by the many generous donations from District 4 community partners, provided an opportunity to help prepare children for the upcoming school year.

"There was a tremendous outpouring of support from resident who recognized the importance of community engagement with our city's agencies and generous partners. Our office is happy to report that the investment was leveraged by over 4,000 residents, making it the biggest back to school event in the city," said Councilman Saldaña .

Council District 4 and CentroMed thanks the following sponsors: San Antonio Food Bank, Bank of America, Toyota Motor Manufacturing Texas, Inc., Boy Scouts of America, H-E-B, Oncology San Antonio, Union Pacific, City of San Antonio, CPS Energy, San Antonio Water System, San Antonio Police Officer’s Association, San Antonio Professional Firefighters Association, University of Cosmetology Arts and Sciences and Alexander Tent Co., Inc.
