Downtown businesses light up for Mayor's Downtown Holiday Contest
Downtown visitors will experience even more Holiday magic this season as downtown San Antonio businesses participate in Mayor Julián Castro's Light Up Downtown Holiday Contest and compete to have the best and brightest holiday light display in their storefronts and buildings. You can vote for your favorite lighting display online beginning this Friday, Nov. 25 at http://www.lightupdowntownsa.com/. Voting ends Sunday, Dec. 11.
Residents and visitors can discover the lights along Houston Street from the Alamo to Market Square and throughout downtown to HemisFair Park. More than 30 downtown merchants and businesses are participating in the inaugural holiday contest. Participants are divided into two main categories--storefronts and buildings. For a list of participating downtown businesses, visit http://www.lightupdowntownsa.com/. Participating businesses will also display a decal with a Quick Response (QR) Code linking you directly to the website to vote from your smartphone.
