Councilwoman Jennifer V. Ramos testifies in Austin showing full support of “Meet and Confer” Legislation

District 3 Councilwoman Jennifer V. Ramos was in Austin today to testify in support of the proposed H.B. 3686 regarding “Meet and Confer” legislation.

Councilwoman Ramos appeared before the Urban Affairs Committee voicing her full support of the “Meet and Confer” legislation as voted on by San Antonio City Council. The support for this particular bill was unanimously approved in October 2008 when council approved San Antonio’s Legislative Program for the 81st Legislative Session.

“I made this trip to our State's Capital to show my full support for this important piece of legislation," states Ramos. "House Bill 3686 will no doubt benefit the hard working employees of San Antonio by providing those individual's with clarity in pay benefits and policies.”

Councilwoman Ramos continued, “It disappoints me to know some of my fellow council colleagues have decided to change their position this late into the process. We voted unanimously to support this measure in October (2008) and that is the message I delivered to the Committee."
